Celebrity couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young are eagerly preparing for the arrival of their first child, and one of the exciting tasks on their to-do list is choosing the perfect name.

In a recently uploaded social media video on Mikael's Instagram page, the actor shared that his name choices were inspired by his favorite NBA players.

One of his top picks? Giannis, after NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo. "Malaki shoulders niya," Mikael noted, highlighting the athlete’s impressive physique.

He also considered Westbrook, referencing Russell Westbrook. "I want Westbrook. Wala lang, parang fashion siya tapos magaling mag-basketball,” he pointed out.

Another name in Mikael’s lineup is Jordan, inspired by Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson.

Meanwhile, Megan leaned into her K-Pop fandom for inspiration. Her first pick? Jin, after BTS’s Jin. "I also like Jin!" Mikael pointed out.

She also suggested Hoshi, named after the SEVENTEEN member.

By the end of the video, Megan made a surprise revelation. One of her favorite picks is actually Mikael himself.

"Pinaglilihian ko ‘to as in nanggigigil talaga ako sa kanya. Mikael Junior," she quipped.

Mikael then responded: “Okay, that’s it. That’s the name."

Megan and Mikael announced that they are expecting their first child back in December 2024.

"A new beginning for us 🤍," Megan posted on social media last December.

In the same month, the celebrity couple organized a gender reveal party with their family and friends.

Before the party, Mikael and Megan checked first the results sent by the doctor. 

"We're going to find out the gender of our baby. Well, 'yung guess ko is girl," Megan said in a gender reveal video posted on Mikael's page.

"I was thinking that 90% chance na girl pero ngayon when I woke up 80% chance na lang," Mikael added.

"When I open my laptop, the picture of the screenshot of the results are there and we'll see," Megan said.

The couple then cheered in excitement upon knowing the baby's gender.

After learning the results, Megan and Mikael gathered their friends and family at their studio for a gender reveal party.

"Gender reveal!!! 💙💓 We set up the studio for our fun get together and asked everyone to come in either pink or blue to see kung ano ang hula nila! Good times 😍," Mikael wrote in the caption of the reel.

In the reel, Megan can be seen popping a balloon with blue confetti, revealing that the couple will be having a baby boy.
