Last year was a busy year for actress Shaina Magdayao, as she travelled abroad to attend prestigious international festivals in Cannes, Locarno, Berlinale, Tokyo and Busan where some her films have been screened and competed. She also represented the country at the New York Asia Film Festival (NYAFF) as part of the Uncaged Competition with esteemed jury members.

For 2025, the 35-year-old actress is off to a good start. “Masaya naman. It’s a very happy and productive new year so far. Going to the Landers Grand Draw event was my very first official work for 2025. So starting big noh? (laughs). Okay naman lahat,” she said.

Known for keeping a low profile on her personal life after reportedly being in a relationships with actors like John Prats and John Lloyd Cruz, Shaina continues to keep mum on the details of her love life status this year. “Steady lang naman ako. Steady, laging masaya (laughs). Ganun lang lagi. Maganda namang tahimik lang ang buhay. Babalitaan ko na lang po kayo,” she said.

Shaina has also been rumored to be dating fellow Kapamilya star Piolo Pascual although the two have never officially confirmed a relationship.

The pretty actress and businesswoman, who launched the lifestyle brand Organized Chicas which sells locally-sourced bags, shoes, clothing, and accessories in 2020, said she appreciates someone who can take her on low profile dates as well.

“You know, I like the simplest dates. I won’t say the exact date. Nothing too grand, but very private and simple. Kasi alam niyo naman na ganun ako, ganun ang aking personality. Hindi kailangan ng masyadong magarbo, basta sincere,” she shared.

Proving that she can flourish in the industry with or without a leading man, Shaina also marks her 29th anniversary in showbiz this year. She started her acting career as a child star by playing the title role in ABS-CBN’s 1996 teleserye Lyra.

Shaina revealed she has more exciting projects to come out soon. “Yes, meron pero kailangan niyo pa abangan kasi hindi ko pa na-re-release. And siyempre madaming exciting things na mangyayari for the rest of the year. I will be updating everyone naman on my social media.”
