BGYO Gelo’s actor era?

That’s what Aces, the fans of BGYO, can expect as they will witness a new chapter for Gelo Rivera, who is currently working on the adaptation of the Wattpad classic Four Bad Boys and Me.

In the first part of their latest BRGY interview, television host Bianca Gonzalez asked Gelo about his latest venture.

“Tama ba, Gelo you just wrapped up shooting for this (movie adaptation of a) widely popular web series? Kumusta?” Bianca asked.

The BGYO leader admitted that it has been a nerve-wracking but rewarding experience so far.

“Siyempre, nakakakaba kasi pinili nila ako as lead doon kahit wala akong experience at all sa acting, kahit workshops, wala. Yung buong experience ng taping, masasabi ko, ang dami kong natutunan sa mga iba’t ibang tao,” Gelo shared.

Gelo had good words for the people he worked with on the project, especially their director.

He went on, “Siguro, ang pinaka-help sa'kin yung mga kasama ko sa work, sa prod po namin, si Direk Benedict Mique.”

Benedict Mique is now headlining the latest iteration of the web novel, which will be under ABS-CBN and LoneWolf Films. Some of Mique’s works include Lolo and the Kid and the 2022 Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.

Aside from their director, Gelo also gave credit to his BGYO co-member Akira Morishita for helping him improve his acting.

“Siyempre, nagtatanong din po ako sa mga kaibigan ko na nag-a-acting din, and siyempre, si Akira. May useful advice siya, yung tamang pagbitaw” Gelo mentioned.

However, his fellow members joked about Gelo, saying he’s been very secretive when it comes to showing his acting skills to them.

BGYO member JL Toreliza shared, “Ang nakakatawa po doon, di namin siya nakikita um-acting. So, excited kami mapanood siya. Sabi nga po namin, mag-throw lines siya, ayaw niya.”

Gelo candidly laughed and explained that he’s just shy. “Close naman po kami pero nahihiya ako.”

The dancer-turned-idol assured their supporters that he’ll do an acting sample once they return to the BRGY studio.

“Sa pagbabalik dito ng BGYO, acting challenge na para sa kanila,” Bianca teased.

Gelo is slated to play the lead role of Jeydon Lopez, who, according to the Wattpad novel, is the epitome of the word "bad boy."

He will also be working with fellow Kapamilya stars Anji Salvacion, Harvey Bautista, Dustine Mayores, and River Joseph.
