Sent by Prime Video, Laurel flew to South Korea to promote the drama series &quot;Surely Tomorrow,&quot; which stars Park alongside Won Ji-an and recently began streaming on the platform.The interview actually happened last October but they had to hold the airing and wait for the actual showing of the series this month. “I had to keep it a secret for quite some time,” Laurel told ABS-CBN News about her interview. “Imagine my excitement trying to keep it together. I only revealed it a week ago.” Laurel was the celebrity guest at the recent opening of of Dessert 39&#x27;s first branch in Manila. &quot;It was nice and intimate,&quot; she said of her solo interview with Park and Won. “Prime is amazing. I’m so blessed that I get to work with a lot of apps around, like Netflix for ‘Squid Games,’ Disney+ for numerous dramas like &#x27;Joy Bushwick&#x27; and for this one, which is Park Seo-joon’s comeback series on Prime.“They tapped a handful of influencers, hobbyists who love K-dramas including me. Patience and believing in God will really surprise you. I think for me it’s such a blessing that I have a hobby and a craft that allows me to meet so many people all over the world.”As a host of K-pop shows, Laurel gets to give her fellow fan girls a memorable moment with K-pop superstars.“It’s a thrill to always try to create wonderful moments and memories between fans like myself and their favorites,” said Laurel. “I take it upon myself as my duty to create wonderful memories. It’s not just a job and a hobby, but also a passion.“I want to showcase the Philippines in a beautiful way. I want to represent the Philippines in a classy and professional way. A lot of foreign artists are afraid to come here. I want it to be when they experienced being with me, they will remember something happy, something professional, something really well.“I think that’s something that I picked up on myself, a mission that I’ve given myself to do. To still love my country in a little way.”Laurel has yet to host a fan meet of Park in Manila, although in the past, she got to host the Dunkin Donuts fan meet of Chau Eun-woo last year.“I don’t speak the language, although I can understand when I start hearing them speak,&quot; she admitted. &quot;But I’m still getting there when it comes to speaking the language. But those artists are in the Philippines and it would be nice to working with them. There are so many (Korean) artists who are coming here.”“I’ve always been multi-tasking. Even when I was doing two dramas, I was doing ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ (2015). I don’t really like to keep myself in one box. I feel like life is so short. You should be able to celebrate all the talents and blessings that you have. I just love what I do. If I feel like doing this, I’ll do that.”Laurel even releases music whenever she can. “Two years ago, I already finished six songs, so I will release that may be soon,” she said. “It just takes a lot to shoot one music video. You need P1.8 million. I don’t even have a label. I do it all my myself. If I’m going to release something, you might just go all out.“As a single mom (to a 14-year-old son), I don’t know if I’m willing to spend P1.8 million on one music video. But I do love my music. I will release my songs soon.” Laurel is among Park’s many celebrity fans, which include Lovi Poe, Maja Salvador, Chi Filomeno, and actress–beauty queen Megan Young.The Korean superstar rose to popularity with his hit shows “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “Fight for My Way” and “Itaewon Class.” He was in the Philippines last year and described his trip as an “amazing experience.”Laurel maintained that in terms of culture, Filipinos and Korean are pretty much the same. “We’re pretty similar with how we love our family or how we love our food,” said Laurel. “Similar to how we love romance. Here in the Philippines, it’s love teams that are so popular, iconic dramas or teleseryes with Star Cinema.“I just feel that K-pop and K-dramas are at a boom right now. K-dramas have been a part of Philippine entertainment since the late &#x27;90s. It’s so fun now because everything is more accessible. Before, they used to think jologs kami when we’re watching K-dramas or others were mad at us. Inaaway pa kami.“But now, sometimes, I’m walking in the mall and somebody will say, ‘Hey, I also like Park Seo-joon. I’m also a fan of Chau Eun-woo.’ They are immediate friends. It really brings the world together. Right now, we have P-pop. I also celebrate P-pop a lot and supportive of that.”
