Zia Quizon opens up about why she took a break from showbiz

<p>Zia Quizon opened up why she took a break from show business after the release of her second album back in 2013.</p><p>In an interview with Boy Abunda, the singer shared that her decision to retreat from the limelight was influenced by major life changes following the passing of her father, Dolphy.</p><p>&quot;I guess just life. Once my dad passed away... 21 years old lang din ako so parang to get settled with my own home and things like that. Of course my mom (Zsa Zsa Padilla) met somebody else and they have their life together now so I didn&#x27;t want to, I guess, intrude in their space and give them space, give myself space,&quot; she explained.</p><p>Zia added that part of her break involved learning to stand on her own two feet. &quot;It was more of I really had to grow up and move on and have my own home. I guess may learning curve talaga. And they tend to be like very private and like &#x27;yung culture nila is a lot more private,&quot; she said.</p><p>She added: &quot;They can be very private people so parang I want to be sensitive to their sensibilities in that regard and it was just a small gathering.&quot;</p><p>Her mom Zsa Zsa and the latter&#x27;s partner Conrad Onglao were present at the wedding. </p><p>In November, Zia signed with Star Music and released her new single &quot;Reto Na Naman.&quot;</p>
