The Filipina beauty was proclaimed Miss Universe Asia during the 73rd edition of the pageant in Mexico last November.

In a video released by Miss Universe on Friday, Manalo said she is excited to fulfill her duties, which involve traveling around the world and working with charities supported by the international pageant.

"We will be traveling around the globe with the whole continental queens, with the Miss Universe team, the whole organization, working on special causes and projects that is (sic) dear to our heart," she said.

Through their planned activities this year, Manalo hopes that they will help make an impact and empower women across the globe.

Aside from Manalo, other continental queens include Tati Calmell of Peru (Miss Universe Americas), Matilda Wirtavuori of Finland (Miss Universe Europe and Middle East), and Nigeria's Chidimma Adetshina (Miss Universe Africa and Oceania).
