"He's a blessing to everyone," said Benedict Cua of baby Aleck as he opened up about becoming a first-time dad.

The influencer and actor recently spoke with broadcast journalist Karen Davila, with his interview uploaded on her YouTube page on Thursday.

He revealed that it has always been his dream to become a parent. "Matagal ko na po gusto. Ten years ago, gusto ko na talaga," he said.

"Sabi ko 'pag nagkaroon ako ng anak, I will try my best na wala siyang generational trauma. I'd listen, lahat siguro ng di ko nakuha, ita-try kong ibigay," he added. "Gusto ko pong maranasan niya rin how beautiful life is despite all the negativities."

It was in May 2024 when Cua introduced baby Aleck to the public via a social media post.

He has since moved back to his parents' house, with all of them enjoying every moment with his newborn son.

When asked about being a single dad, the vlogger said it was initially not part of the plan. "Hindi po talaga dapat ako single father. I had a partner, we talked about this, we decided to have a family. But noong paparating na si baby, doon namin na-realize na it cannot work," he admitted.

"Hindi lang po kami compatible, parang mas naging friends na po kami versus lovers. Eh that time po parating na si baby."

Cua never revealed the identity of Aleck's mother, and he prefers to keep things private, at least for now.

"Right now not yet willing to share because it's something very personal. And in time, maybe if okay din kay Aleck, then I would tell everybody," he said.

"I know there are a lot of assumptions, a lot of haka-haka, pero hindi ko naman po 'yon obligation to tell them the truth just because they were curious," he stressed.

For now, all he can say is that Aleck is "100% my son," putting an end to rumors that he adopted the baby.

As to what he wants for his son, Cua said: "Pangarap ko po sa kanya mahanap niya 'yung gusto niya nang walang pumipilit sa kanya. I think majority po ng mga tao in this generation are oftentimes forced by their parents to do something. Ikaw, kahit anong gusto mo."
