Korean actress Song Hye-kyo debuted her new look on social media.

On her Instagram page, Hye-kyo posted snapshots of herself in a shorter hairstyle.

Hye-kyo's new haircut was in preparation for the production of her upcoming series with Gong Yoo.

"I cut my hair for my next project. It is a project by writer Noh Hee Kyung. The story is set in the ’60s and ’70s," the actress shared in a recent interview with Fairy Jaehyung on YouTube.

Titled Slowly but Intensely, the new K-Drama of Hye-kyo and Yoo started filming on January 12 according to a report by Naver as translated by Soompi.

The show offers a portrayal of life in the broadcasting industry. It delves into the glittering world of on-stage stars while shedding light on the behind-the-scenes professionals who shape and support their rise to fame.

The series is targeting to wrap up filming within the first half of the year and is currently in discussions to premiere as a 22-episode series on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Hye-kyo is set to star in her latest big screen project, the horror film Dark Nuns, which will be released on January 24.

Dark Nuns tells the story of individuals performing a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. It is a sequel to the 2015 film The Priests.

"It’s my first time undertaking this type of acting. It’s interesting to see different facial expressions that I’ve never seen before, which are different from Dong Eun’s (her character in the series The Glory)," she said about portraying her role in the movie in a previous interview with Harper's Bazaar Korea.

Hye-kyo starred in Netflix series The Glory in 2022. She won the Best Actress award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in the show. She also won the Blue Dragon's Choice (Grand Prize) at the Blue Dragon Series Awards.
