Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan took a trip down memory lane and recalled the time when she was still living in Palisades in Los Angeles during her teenage years. The celebrity mom shared with her followers on social media the good memories she had made there in the face of the wildfires that are currently destroying the majority of Southern California.

The Palisades Fire was described in a report by the Associated Press to be more destructive than the Sayre Fire which happened almost two decades ago. Firefighters are continuously trying to put a stop to the fires that have caused thousands of people to leave their homes.

“The Palisades was my home for all my teenage years. We lived at the top of the hill on Charmel Lane,” Maricel wrote.

She shared an old photo of her cross country team for the members of her team that are still living in the US to temporarily take their minds off the disaster that’s currently happening.

Maricel recalled how beautiful the views in the Palisades were–– the affluent residential neighborhood that is tucked between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. She added how unforgettable those moments were for her.

“Walking down to school and back up home after was always a surreal and breathtaking 2-mile hike going through lovely views of the ocean and the most beautiful homes,” she shared.

“So many unforgettable memories of home cooked meals, lots of conversations around the dining table, doing life together with my foster family—The Edwards—while always surrounded by love, classical music in the background,” she continued.

Despite the ongoing fires that’s engulfing the beautiful neighborhood, Maricel maintained that the spirit of Palisades lives in her heart forever.

“I keep these memories close to my heart especially during these times… and the spirit of the Palisades lives in our hearts forever,” she ended.
