Although there is no official announcement, fans speculated that the project Jennie hinted at could be related to her upcoming album.

In an interview with Billboard, Jennie revealed that her solo album reflects her personal growth.

"What I’ve experienced, what I resonate to or what I want in my life. That’s one other thing that’s changed from being in BLACKPINK, is that I get to say my message in my way," she explained.

The K-pop star also confirmed she began working on the album in early 2024, and it’s now nearing completion.

“I want to say I’m almost there,” Jennie remarked.

She also revealed that she intentionally recorded most of her songs in Los Angeles, California.

"I struggled a lot in the beginning. A few months, I would say, was just me throwing myself out there, walking into rooms filled with new people," she recalled.

"I just had to keep knocking on the door, like, ‘Is this it?’ ‘Is this it?’ and then eventually, we got to a point where I found a good group of people that I linked with, sonically and as friends."
