MANILA — What began in 2019 as a humble podcast of friends recorded in a small bedroom, “The KoolPals” has since transformed into a powerhouse comedy ensemble that now boasts its own entertainment and live recording hub dedicated to elevating the country’s stand-up comedy scene.

“The KoolPals Bar,” located in Century Park Hotel in Manila City, seeks to be the go-to destination for comedy fans craving a unique experience in Manila’s entertainment scene.

“Ever since we started our group, we have always dreamed of having our own bar,” comedian James Caraan, one of the group's founding members, shared.

“The podcast has played a huge role in promoting stand-up comedy, and it’s amazing to see how it has helped us achieve this dream. Now, we have a venue where we can expand our reach and share our humor with even more people,” he added.

"The KoolPals Bar" stands out as the only venue in the Philippines to offer both a live podcast studio and a comedy bar under a single roof. 

Guests can enjoy live recordings of the popular comedy podcast while also experiencing the best of local Pinoy stand-up, featuring the finest performers in the genre.

“This is a comedian’s playground. It’s a space where good food, drinks, and comedy come together. It’s where people can relax, laugh, and make memories,” GB Labrador, one of the pioneering members, explained.

The space, made possible by the ensemble’s partnership with Century Park Hotel, aims to seamlessly blend thrilling live performances and interactive podcasts with world-class dining.

“Bodega lang ito dati, twelve years siya hindi ginagamit, at ngayon punong-puno dahil sa kanila,” JJ Tan, the hotel’s managing director, said.

The KoolPals Bar sets the stage for a wide range of comedic experiences, introducing a fresh format with the "Noontime Show," airing every Sunday at 4 p.m.

The show will also be broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube.
