Last September, actor James Reid confirmed that Liza Soberano had left Careless. Soberano was able to act in the Hollywood film "Lisa Frankenstein" through the firm Reid created, and she also received endorsement deals.

In an interview, Reid said he and Soberano are okay, despite her departure from Reid's talent management firm.

“There’s no bad blood. It’s amazing what she's doing, you know, maybe, you know, pushing for her dreams in Hollywood,” he told select entertainment press during his “just got home” press tour.

When asked for an update on his company's legal battle, Reid revealed, “I believe it's still being resolved every day. It’s still getting untangled and resolved every day together with my legal team. That’s all I have to say.”

He went on to remark that he's glad his former business partner has departed Careless.

“The team is still trying to reach out and resolve the issues, but honestly, I don't even care. I'm just happy he's gone. I wouldn't say [he’s] exactly a scam. It’s more complicated than that,” Reid confessed.

According to the singer-actor, Careless is doing well right now, and they are still discovering new talents and producing projects.

“Careless is really back on track and it's been quite a journey as well for us. Everyone I work with, they're like family to me. Everyone’s in a really good place right now. I’m very happy,” he said.

This year, Joshua Garcia reunited with Julia Barretto, his ex-girlfriend and onscreen partner. Alden Richards also starred in a reunion film with Kathryn Bernardo. Is Reid interested in undertaking a reunion project with ex-girlfriend Nadine Lustre?

“I don't see that in the cards for now. When it comes to the acting, I really wanted to, you know, start fresh and try different roles and everything, but that hasn't been talked about yet, so you know, we'll see, but for now, you know, I really want to explore different roles when it comes to my acting and working with a lot of different people,” he shared. 

“Maybe when the times or the time is right, when the times have changed,” he added.

Reid highlighted that for his acting comeback on ABS-CBN's Dreamscape, he wants to work with people with whom he has not before worked. He also announced that three leading ladies will participate in a look test for his series.

“I didn’t get to work with many people last time, so this one I'm excited to work with as many people as well,” he said.
