Comedian Jobert Austria opened up about the reason why he migrated to Calgary, Canada in 2021.

In a virtual interview with Bianca Gonzalez for the TFC show BRGY, Jobert shared that the major motivation behind the decision was for him to be with his wife, Tiad Guzman.

Prior to Joebert's big move to Canada, his then fiancée Tiad Guzman was already based there.

When asked what were the major adjustments that he experienced when he moved to Canada, Jobert recounted: "Unang-una 'yung lifestyle dito kasi lahat dito may oras. 'Pag gising mo rito, kailangan ganito gawin mo, walang katulong dito eh. 'Pag gising mo rito ikaw 'yung maglalaba, ikaw magluluto."

The comedian also recalled that it was initially challenging since he did not have any friends in Canada.

As to his livelihood, Jobert relayed that he ventured into doing stand-up comedy in Canada.

"Kailangan mong kumilos dito. Nag-stand up ako dito, he relayed.

His stand-up comedy gigs grew over time, and he was able to tour around Canada.

"Na-bless naman ako na nakilala ako rito sa ganun so siguro magmula lumipat ako rito, nakaka-500 shows na ako rito mula nung 2021," he said.

He utilized his real-life experiences in Canada for the materials for his stand-up comedy skits.

Buong Canada nalibot ko na," he said.

Jobert recently became part of the blockbuster movie Hello, Love, Again which was filmed in Calgary, Canada.
