After recently unveiling her own wax figure for display at a popular wax museum in Hong Kong starting this month, Anne Curtis said she is excited to be part of the showcase which also includes other standout Pinoy personalities.

“I’m just so happy and honored and grateful to all of my fans, my followers, my family in the industry who have been part of my career. I’m so thankful that you guys have supported me throughout the years. This is truly a core memory made for me and I’m so happy to share it with all of you. What an honor it is to be able to represent the Philippines alongside other actresses who have been given the opportunity to be part of the Madame Tussauds family. I’m even more proud that there are other Filipinos naman in different genres, from the beauty pageants you have Pia (Wurtzbach), you have Catriona (Gray), for sports you have Manny Pacquiao and then in singing there’s Lea Salonga so talagang it’s an honor,” she shared during her Madame Tussauds Hong Kong press conference last month.

Holding the distinction of being the first Pinoy actress and TV host to have her own image at the museum, Anne said it is a big honor for her to experience fitting for a wax figure.

“I think this year, actually every year, I think it’s about time that Filipinos are able to introduce themselves on a worldwide stage. So I feel like whether it be sports, beauty pageants, fashion shows, acting, now is the time for Filipinos. I’m so happy and honored . it’s about time that we do make a name for ourselves. Of course I’ve done so many fantaseryes throughout my career and it’s a very different process. I thought I would have to lie down, get my prosthetics done and fitted, but actually, it turned out to be two hours of posing, smiling, and it was done. Akala ko yung parang hihiga ka na parang mummy, parang ganun. It’s so high tech. Iba na talaga ang technology now. Then a year later, here we are. The whole team of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, they were so professional. I could see the craftsmanship behind it was so good. It was so precise. Like when you see it, it’s so scary. It really is so precise. I’m just so amazed at how precise. Ka-lookalike ko na talaga siya!” she gushed.

Anne said she already plans on how to surprise her daughter Dahlia the next time they travel and visit the museum.

“Hindi pa niya nakikita. Iniisip ko siyang dalhin today pero bilang big event kasi baka ma-overwhelm. So ang plano ko, mag-ho-Hong Kong kami tapos hindi ko sasabihin sa kanya. Tingin tingin doon, baka you know, she might have to take a double look and be like, ‘Mama?’ (laughs) It will be back in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong at The Peak on December 9,” she said.

After being announced by ABS-CBN Studios as one of the stars of the local adaptation of the popular 2020 South Korean romantic comedy It’s Okay to Not Be Okay along with Carlo Aquino and Joshua Garcia, Anne said she can’t wait to show the project to her fans.

“It will be at par with the original. I loved the series. I loved the character. So I have to make sure that I will give justice to the character that everyone loved in the original series. Kahit naman hindi ko siya na-study, alam na alam ko na kasi I’m a fan of the series. Ilang beses ko siyang napanuod. I just hope that when the time comes for the Filipino audience to watch It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, they’ll be happy with what we’ve come up with,” she added.
