In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez for TFC's BRGY, the model turned actress recounted that it was at a fast-food chain where she met filmmaker Jeffrey Jeturian who would become instrumental for her to get into modeling.

"Birthday ko 'yun, siguro iyon 'yung birthday gift ni God. It was on my 19th birthday, my nanay took me to Shakey's," she shared.

Angel recalled refusing the offer at first as she was still studying at that time. "Nag-aaral pa ako nun so sabi ko, 'Parang hindi po.' Tsaka sa Baguio ako nun nag-aaral. But for some reason, wala kaming telepono nun, so I gave him our address. And 'yun na, so he brought me to, since I didn't want to act, he brought me to modeling contacts."

When Angel got pregnant with her first child at 19, her modeling projects got put on hold. She admitted that she thought that her modeling career would no longer push through.

"Everything was on hold, pina-VTR na [ni Jeff] ako. I couldn't do any of the projects because I was pregnant. So nagkaroon lang talaga ako ng career after my first child. So 'yun, I wasn't sure kung matutuloy pa... especially modeling."

She went on: "But thankfully naman I was able to get back in shape, proper shape for modeling and life's been good. Parang blessings just came. Maybe because I already was a mom so blessings just kept pouring so that I would be able to support my daughter which eventually became two."
