Kim Atienza appears to have discovered a way to reach out to a younger market by creating content for TikTok.

With 741,000 TikTok followers, he uses the social media app to post his entertaining videos, which come with trivia. One of his most recent post garnered attention when a netizen asked if he was "pogi" (handsome), to which he responded with information about the term.

Aside from his engaging videos, the former "It's Showtime" host provides details about his life outside of television on the app.

When asked how much he enjoys posting videos on TikTok, the TV host told ABS-CBN News, “It should be perfect complement for someone who’s on TV. Magkaiba na kasi ang market. Ang boomers, nasa free TV. That’s my market. Pero the young ones, ‘yung Gen Z, nasa TikTok at social media. For one to be effective, one has to be able to do both. Nasa TV ka para sa boomers at nasa TikTok ka para sa mga Gen Z.”

As a social media user, what is his reaction to the negativity it brings to individuals, and what are his thoughts on too much hate on social media?

“When you’re on social media, you have to be salt and light. There’s so much hate especially on X. ‘Yan ang pinaka-hateful na social media platform because it’s highly political. When there’s hate, I just choose not to engage. Minsan nagkakamali ako, napapa-engage ako,” he shared with ABS-CBN News.

While there is some negativity on social media right now, Atienza wishes to express positivity, love, and happiness.

He then cited her daughter, Emmanuelle Atienza, who is becoming an influencer through her thought-provoking social media posts.

“Pero ‘yung anak ko, iba, matapang. Ganoon ‘ata ang Gen Z. They engage. Iba si Emman, the youngest. Kapag nagpo-post ‘yun, kinakabahan na ako pero patok siya eh,” Atienza said.

Talking about his daughter’s online fame, he added, “Whenever I’m out in public, tinatanong ako ng mga Gen Z, ‘Where’s Emman?’ Hindi ako ang hinahanap. Siya na. Naging iconic siya sa mga Gen Z. Pero kinakabahan ako everytime.”

Before the end of 2024, Kuya Kim feels nothing but gratitude in his heart. He considers himself fortunate to have both a successful career and a loving family.

About their Christmas plans, the TV host shared, “We’re going to Colorado. Nag-aaral sa Amerika ‘yung mga anak ko. ‘Yung panganay ko, nagtratrabaho na roon. Si Jose is working in Boston. My daughter is in UPenn. ‘Yung pangatlo ko, katatapos lang ng high school. 10 days lang sa Amerika. From December 21 to January 4.“

“Just for the family to be together, to spend time together. Fely and I will do a lot of eating together while the kids are skiing. We taught the kids how to ski at a young age. Magaling sila mag-ski,” he added.

Are there any goals he hopes to attain, and what does he look forward to in 2025?

“As far as my goals for my career is concern, I’m just happy that things are going well. I’ve been blessed. I have nothing but gratitude. As for additional goals, sobra na kung hihingi pa ako kasi ayos na. God has been good to me,” he responded.

“Maganda rin ang 2024. Sa health, wala namang challenges. To be able to be relevant at this state of Philippine television is such a blessing. Ang dami nating kaibigan na extremely talented pero walang trabaho. Iba na ang TV ngayon. Nagbabago ang landscape,” he added.

Atienza was recently renewed as the face of Santé International, led by CEO Joey Marcelo, who admired his positivity and health journey.

“Kuya Kim is one of the celebrities na hinahangaan dahil sa credibility at image niya. Inspiring din ang health journey niya,” Marcelo said.
