After a busy month promoting her 50th Metro Manila Film Festival horror film entry Strange Frequencies, actress Jane de Leon admitted how grateful she is for all the love she has been been getting from fans and those who have already watched their film.

“Mga Kapamilya, Kapuso, Kapatid, thank you, thank you so much. I know na hindi kaming masyadong napapansin ngayon, pero ngayon na unti-unti na ulit kaming nakikilala, ang project naming Strange Frequencies, ang dami na ring nakaka-acknowledge ng movie namin. Sobrang nagpapasalamat kami sa walang sawang suporta at tiwala niyo. Natutuwa ako sa comments ng mga madla, actually. Excited ako na makilala niyo kaming lahat, kasi in the movie I’m portraying myself and hindi niyo naman ako nakikita everyday so kahit papano makikilala niyo kung sino ba si Jane de Leon sa Strange Frequencies,” she said.

Without sharing more specific details, Jane admits she had been going through a very challenging year. The Strange Frequencies star's last project was the Regal Films project Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme last year.

“Grabe kasi this 2024 eh, I think marami naman ang madaming pinagdaanan. So this year, naka-survival mode ako. I always pray to God na i-turn off na ‘yun  and just to be happy and just to go with the flowm” she shared. “For next year, I think makikita na ako ulit ng mga Kapamilya natin. Puwede na ba sabihin? Magkakaroon ulit ako ng serye ulit. We’re going to announce it soon and excited ako na makatrabaho ‘yung makakasama ko dito sa project na ito.”

When it comes to her private life, the Kapamilya actress has always chosen to keep a low profile from the public.

As for those waiting for updates regarding the clamor for a movie project reuniting her with her former Darna co-star Janella Salvador, Jane says it is still going to happen as far as she knows. “We’re working on it. May serye si Janella and of course I’m doing some projects also. Pero madami na ring nag-pi-pitch sa amin for our movie for the future,” she shared.

After almost nine years in the industry, Jmany consider Jane’s breakout role to be the iconic Pinoy superhero Darna which she played in the 2022 ABS-CBN series Mars Ravelo’s Darna. The 26-year-old actress admits she is always proud when people associate her that role even after many years.

“I’m so happy to be part of the history. Siyempre it’s an iconic role and hindi na mawawala ‘yun kahit na siguro magka-apo na ako sa tuhod. But ako naman, if there’s a best, best next Darna, then why not? Support support naman kami lahat, the way the previous Darnas supported me,” she explained.

Watch Jane de Leon in Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital which is one of the ten entries in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival now showing in cinemas nationwide until January 7, 2025. Also starring Enrique Gil, Alexa Miro, Rob Gomez, MJ Lastimosa, Raf Pineda, and     Ryan "Zarckaroo" Azurin, Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital is directed by Kerwin Go.
