Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito just completed his first-ever half marathon earlier this week at the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon in Cambodia. He took to his Instagram account to express his satisfaction with finishing the race as a first timer.

A half marathon runs for 21 kilometers–– most runners join this prior to running a full 42-kilometers.

“No legs, all heart! Finally popped that anything-that-has-'marathon'-in-it cherry and on the most majestic of courses,” he wrote.

In his post, Jake showed a beautiful view of Angkor Wat which he along with other athletes witnessed as they ran. In one of the videos, several Cambodians expressed their support towards the runners by cheering for them on the sidelines.

Jake ran for a total of 1 hour and 55 minutes and 15 seconds–– placing him in the 545th overall rank of the runners.

“Big thanks to my bro-in-law turned budol-in-law/coach @miquelaguilar1978 and to my marathon helpline @tippersss,” he added.

The Kapamilya actor shared that he is still in disbelief that he ran a half marathon but it's slowly sinking in as body soreness took over after his successful race.

“Over the moon as a newb—but from my hotel bed, because everything hurts. Angkor Wat International Half Marathon,” he ended.

Family and fans of Jake sent their congratulatory messages in the comment section. Other netizens applauded him and expressed how he became an inspiration in their respective running journey.

“Hands Down I have never been in any marathon but I really respect people who has the will to do it good job Mr Ejercito you are an inspiration,” a fan wrote.

“Running through historical place while making history of your own 😍 👏 Setting a personal record at Angkor Wat is the perfect blend of inspiration and achievement. Well done for making your mark among the ancient temples of Angkor,” another fan added.

Prior to his run, Jake celebrated the 13th birthday of Ellie, his daughter. He organized a birthday party for her as shared by his co-parent, Andi Eigenmann, on her Instagram account.

"THIRTEEN 🤯 I’ll probably never stop wishing I could keep my baby girl as my baby girl forever, but truth is, I also can’t wait to witness you grow— wiser, kinder, bolder, and even more beautiful,” he previously shared.
