Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae shared how his acting career started.

In an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Falon, Jung-jae shared that he started as a model before he became an actor.

"Honestly, I was getting ready to work for an interior design company back then, and then I got a part-time job working at a cafe. And I was suggested a part-time modeling gig, and it turned out it paid a lot more than what the cafe paid me, so I thought I'd take it up. And that modeling gig led me to being cast an actor," he recounted.

The Korean star remarked that he did not anticipate that it would pave the way for a long career for him as an actor.

"I thought I'd save just a little more and quit. I didn't know that would be the beginning to this long of a career. Never knew that I'd be in something like Squid Game. And never knew I'd be here sitting with you at the Tonight Show," he told host Jimmy.

Lee Jung-jae is currently starring in the second season of the Netflix global hit show Squid Game.

When asked if he felt pressured about the show's second season, he replied: "Because Season 1 was so widely loved, we did feel the pressure about whether or not Season 2 would be just as loved. However, our story has gotten more diverse, deeper with a very clear theme. So I don't know if I can say it will be as successful but what I can say is that it's just as well-made," he highlighted.

In the same interview, Jung-jae was asked about his experience winning an Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Drama series for the first season of Squid Game.

"That night, because director Hwang (Dong-hyuk) and I both won, it felt twice as surreal. Even now just by thinking about it, my heart is about to burst, it's hard to put into words. It was truly an amazing night. It was unimaginable," he highlighted.
