MANILA -- Singer Denise Julia turned to social media to share that she was in contact with her legal team about a defamation suit, after celebrity photographer BJ Pascual named her as the "worst" personality he had worked with.

In a podcast, Pascual claimed that Denise's team attempted to cancel a photoshoot the night before it was scheduled. Pascual said he covered the cancellation fees.

In her Twitter post on late Wednesday night, December 25, Denise uploaded a screen recording of messages between her manager John Vincent Salcedo and Pascual's manager Pearl Acuesta.

The singer also shared her message for Pascual, saying that she and her team were "genuine fans" who were "so excited" about the collaboration with the celebrity photographer.

She said her team had been upfront about their budget and that she had "moved my entire release date just to be able to work with you, out of respect for your time."

"I’ve stayed quiet for as long as I could, but I needed to say my piece. Even until the end my manager was still trying to make this work, suggesting solutions and new dates so we can re-align and no one’s effort goes to waste," Denise said.

"What hurts the most is seeing my character publicly attacked over something that’s not just out of my control but is a business negotiation between our managers and conversation that should’ve stayed private."

Addressing Pascual, she claimed, "You targeted me to bring me down."

She then shared a screen recording of their text messages "for full transparency as we have nothing to hide."

"I thought this was something we had agreed on to talk about in person. We are now in contact with our legal team about a defamation suit. I hate that this had to go this way when it didn’t have to," she added.

Denise earlier shared screenshots of parts of the conversation between their teams.

But on Christmas Day, Pascual said that the screenshots "do not reflect the full context of what transpired."

He said his team "made every effort" to adjust the budget for the shoot to around P371,000, which he said "was below industry standards."

He said he hoped they could "move forward constructively while focusing on improving practices in the industry."
