Miss Universe Asia 2024 Chelsea Manalo recently visited Malacañang to take part in an event that paid tribute to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Staying true to her advocacy, the Filipina beauty queen joined "Pamaskong Handog Para sa OFW Family" held by the Department of Migrant Workers at the Heroes' Hall of the Palace.

In photos shared by Miss Universe Philippines on Wednesday, she can be seen smiling for photos with OFWs and their families as she spent quality time with them.

Manalo has been using her platform to promote the welfare of children of OFWs, which was also the focus of her "Voice for Change" advocacy video in Miss Universe.

It is a cause that is close to her heart, as she also comes from a family of migrant workers.

"My father worked as a seaman for 10 years, and I have seen firsthand the sacrifices that my parents have to make so that they can create a better life for us," she said in her "Voice for Change" video. "With my dad away, I have developed the strength needed to navigate our unique family dynamic with the support of my mom."

"As Miss Universe Philippines, I made it my mission to show these kids that the realities of their family life, however challenging, should never hinder them from realizing their fullest potential," she added, sharing that she has been promoting the programs of the Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration for OFW families.

Manalo is set to have a homecoming parade at the SM Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City on December 20.

She made history as the first-ever Miss Universe Asia, joining other continental queens: Tati Calmell of Peru (Miss Universe Americas), Matilda Wirtavuori of Finland (Miss Universe Europe and Middle East), and Nigeria's Chidimma Adetshina (Miss Universe Africa and Oceania).

They will join newly crowned Miss Universe Victoria Theilvig of Denmark in working with charities supported by the international pageant.
