Sandara Park discussed the story behind her iconic "palm tree hair" during the early days of 2NE1.

In an interview with Vogue Singapore, Sandara took a trip down memory lane and looked back on her iconic looks including her hairstyle when 2NE1 just debuted.

"At that time, I had a lot of palm tree hair. My concept was palm tree hair and it was very bold style in anyone's eyes," she recounted.

Sandara remembered that the hairstyle was actually shorter and it got higher as she noticed how good it looked.

"The stylist and the salon owner didn't style it too high at first, but when I tried it, it looked so beautiful so it gradually got higher," she recounted. "I think we kept pushing the boundaries, and my hair got more and more daring."

Another iconic look she revisited during the interview was her look during the "I Am The Best" music video shoot.

"'I Am The Best' [is] where we pushed punk to the ultimate level. We filmed the music video for a whole week. The shoot was long, and the sets were extensive but also because we had to hand-stud each outfit piece by piece," she recalled. "All the staff worked tirelessly, staying up all night to complete it."

In her interview with the magazine, Sandara also discussed her reunion with the 2NE1 members for their 15th anniversary.

"Nothing was planned ahead. Including the sudden breakup, the surprise Coachella performance, and the 15th anniversary concert," she revealed. "That’s life. But one thing is for sure: all four members love being on stage together and that’s what we’ve always wanted."

She went on: "I thought we would definitely come back someday and now is the time."

Back in November, 2NE1 brought their "Welcome Back" tour to Manila.

"I feel so emotional. The Philippines is my second home. But it’s not only me, it’s 2NE1’s second home too," Sandara told the fans during the Manila concert.

She went on: "Maraming-maraming salamat sa inyong lahat. Salamat sa paghintay niyo sa’min. Ang tagal namin di ba? 10 years pero nandito pa rin kayo. Maraming salamat sa suporta niyo sa’min. Talagang na-miss namin kayo."
