Kristel Fulgar opened up how she met her Korean boyfriend, Ha Su-hyuk.

In her latest YouTube vlog, Kristel talked about her journey leading to meeting her first boyfriend.

"Three years ago medyo napre-pressure na ako kasi nga malapit na ako sa gusto kong marrying age which is 30, 31, 32 tapos 'yung mga ka-batch ko [kinasal] na, may mga anak na," she admitted.

Kristel realized then that her biggest dream was to start a family.

"Na-realize ko ano ba talaga ang pinaka-goal ko sa buhay. Akala ko dati 'yung yumaman lang, magkaroon ng maraming pera pero I realized sa pagtanda ko what I really wanted is to have my own family. That time iniisip ko dapat sinisimulan ko na 'to," she recalled.

In 2022, Kristel shared that she prayed to God, asking Him if she could already meet the one she would love.

"2022, during our year-end thanksgiving sa church, nagpe-pray talaga ako ng sobra like umiiyak pa ako kay God na sabi ko talaga, 'God alam ko po na may ni-reserve Kayo na someone for me, the right guy for me. Handa na po ako. Handa na po ako magmahal at mahalin,'" she recounted.

The actress relayed that she did not date back in college and in her early 20s as she knew that she was not yet ready, and she was not yet financially stable at that time. But now in her late 20s, Kristel said she knew that she was already ready to fall in love.

A few months later after praying about her desire to find love, Kristel met Su-hyuk.

"Few months later, meron akong friend na pinakilala sa akin si Su-hyuk. Matagal na siya dito sa Korea nakatira at kilala niya si Su-hyuk na mabait and that friend kilalang-kilala rin ako and that friend alam niya rin 'yung personality ko, and alam niya rin kung ano ang gusto ko sa guy and so siya 'yung nagpakilala sa aming dalawa," she said.

Kristel described meeting Su-hyuk for the first time as "magical."

"And then 'yung una pa lang namin pagkakakilala para talagang super magical. Hindi ko maexplain. Swak kami sa values, pareho kaming very respectful, pareho kaming conservative. 'Yung approach niya sa dating very classic and 'yun din talaga ang gusto ko sa guy," she said.

She further recalled: "And then marami na kaming na-share sa isa't isa and then sabi ko talaga sa sarili ko na alam mo kung totoo lahat ng sinabi niya sa akin. Sobrang okay na itong guy na 'to ah. Jackpot na ako dito ah... Hanggang sa nakilala ko 'yung family and friends niya. Lahat naman tugma."

However, there was one barrier they needed to overcome. "May isa lang problema, hindi ko pa ma-commit ang sarili ko kasi meron pang isang requirement kumbaga, kasi gusto ko sana na same kami ng religious beliefs. So diniscuss ko sa kanya and at that time takot na takot ako kasi hindi ko alam kung paano ko i-explain. Sabi ko sayang kung dahil doon ay mawawala siya pero 'yun kasi ang top priority ko sa life."

She went on: "Sinama namin siya sa worship service tapos nagustuhan niya 'yung lesson at nagustuhan niya 'yung teachings and dun siya nakapag-decide na sige I will try to listen to Bible studies. Sobrang saya ko nun, as in, kasi parang one step na siya sa goal."

Kristel remarked that she saw Su-hyuk's commitment and persistence during this time. "Nakita ko talaga sa kanya 'yung pagpu-pursige niya na eventually hindi na lang ako 'yung naging dahilan kung bakit niya gusto mag-join ng church, gusto niya na rin niya 'yung teaching sa church."

"Dun ko talaga narealize na God send siya para sa akin," she said.

Kristel highlighted that waiting for the right time to be in a relationship was worth it. "Sobrang worth the wait lahat ng bagay. Hindi ko pinagsisihan na siya 'yung first boyfriend ko at 29 years old. May goal kasi ako and diniscuss ko rin sa kanya na gusto ko 'yung first boyfriend ko, siya rin 'yung maging last ko. And hopefullly gusto niya 'yun matupad," she stated.
