In a virtual interview with Bianca Gonzalez on the TFC show BRGY, Ruby revealed, "The reason we moved here was for my son's medical treatment. We contemplated on it."

"My producers knew about it because I asked permission and I told them that I was permanently moving here because all my children and my husband, they are all citizens [here] and I am also a resident here so that's why we always fly back and forth," she highlighted.

Ruby remarked that her family will always be her main priority more than her career.

"Our priority [is] family first. Even you still have a career, parang sorry ise-set aside ko 'yan para sa anak ko. I am willing to start anew and [I know] God will not forsake me. I know He will be there so that's why I left quietly, and I didn't want it to be a big deal," she said.

"First big struggle [was] where am I going to live? Saan ako titira? Ayokong nakikitira. That was the very first problem kasi nauna ako eh. My daughter was here already. Since my daughter is already an adult, she has own place and it's small, we can't fit there. That was the first struggle. And then I just prayed and prayed and prayed and not even a month I was able to get a place," she said.
