The two actors' respective management companies confirmed Tuesday earlier media stories about their split, Korean entertainment news portral Soompi reported.

The two, however, have chosen to continue their relationship as good colleagues, according to the Soompi report.

Ho-yeon and Dong-hwi began dating in 2015 and publicized their relationship in 2016.

Hoyeon, 30, began her career as a model before rising to fame as a breakout star in Netflix's survival drama series "Squid Game."

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Dong-hwi is known for starring in the 2015 coming-of-age series "Reply 1988" and action comedy blockbuster "Extreme Job."
