MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has declared April 22, 2025, Tuesday, a "Day of National Mourning" over the passing of actress and national artist Nora Aunor.

Aunor was conferred the Order for National Artist in 2022 for her significant contributions in the Philippine media and theater. Aside from being a distinguished actress, she was also a film producer and singer.
