MANILA — Viral content creator Arman Salon could not hold back tears as she paid tribute to her “idol” Nora Aunor.

Arman Salon, who is known in real life as Arman Macasusi, took to video platform TikTok to recall fond memories of her admiration of the late superstar, whom she says inspired her to try acting.

“Napakasakit sa akin kasi siya ‘yung salamin ng buhay ko. Siya ‘yung hinahangaan ko,” the internet personality shared in a video.

Macasusi said she had idolized Ate Guy since she was a kid, often mimicking her scenes in the movies that she had watched.

“Nag-iipon pa ako ng pera para makapanood ng mga pelikula niya… ‘Tinik sa Dibdib’, ‘Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit.’ Nanood ako sa sinehan ng ‘Beloved’,” she narrated in another video.

Despite her mother being a fan of Vilma Santos, Aunor’s “rival” at the box office at the time, it did not stop Arman Salon from chasing after her childhood icon.

“Pumupunta ako sa Luneta kapag parada ng mga artista, kahit malayo, kahit makipagsiksikan ako, mahawakan ko lang ‘yung kamay ni Nora Aunor.”

The content creator thanked Aunor for being part of her life and for imparting lessons to her, such as being generous and loving to the poor.

“I love you, idol. Sana makita kita. Sana makita ko man lang ‘yung mukha mo. Sana mayakap kita,” she said.

Aunor passed away on Wednesday, April 16, after experiencing breathing difficulties following a medical operation, according to her son Ian de Leon. No further details were given as to her ailment.

A public viewing for fans of the late superstar will be held on April 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.
