MANILA — Comedian Gil Morales, known as Ate Gay, credits the late National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor for his three-decade-long career—not only for allowing him to impersonate her, but for standing by him and cheering him on through every milestone.

Kumbaga sinusuportahan niya mga gumagaya sa kanya,” Ate Gay tearfully recalled in an interview held during the wake of Aunor, Saturday.

Hindi niya kami pinagbabawalan,” he added.

The comedian attested that Ate Guy was a true superstar both on and off the stage, and that she imparted countless lessons to him.
