MANILA -- ABS-CBN's Star Music has released "Maskara," the main theme song of the newest drama series "Lavender Fields," starring Jodi Sta. Maria.

"Maskara" was performed and composed by celebrity couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez. It was arranged by Tommy Katigbak, mixed and mastered by Dante Tañedo and produced by Jonathan Manalo.

In a video shared previously by Manalo, Velasquez and Alcasid talked about the message of the song.

"The essence of the song is to say tanggalin mo na 'yung maskara mo. Mamahalin kita kahit sino ka man at matutunan mo ring mahalin ang sarili mo," Alcasid said.

"It was a wonderful experience for me working with my husband again. This song is actually dedicated to those people na itinatago mo kung ano ang 'yung totoong ikaw, ayaw mo kasing masaktan. So parang you'd rather hide your real self to protect your self," Velasquez added.

For Manalo, he believes that a lot of people can relate to the song which is about real-life experiences.

Also starring Jericho Rosales and Janine Gutierrez, "Lavender Fields," a Dreamscape Entertainment production under ABS-CBN Studios, is now streaming on Netflix and on iWantTFC.

"Lavender Fields" airs on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
