The spin-off focuses on Han-ul (Si-wan), an ace assassin known as Mantis, who was mentioned in "Kill Boksoon" as having "gone on a vacation." In the new film, he returns to the hired killer industry "in search of new opportunities," Netflix said.

Upon reentering the anarchic industry, Mantis crosses paths with Jae-yi (Gyu-young), his fellow trainee and rival, and Dok-go (Woo-jin), a retired legendary assassin.
"Kill Boksoon," which premiered on Netflix in 2023, stars Jeon Do-yeon as the titular character, a single mother who balances her role as a highly skilled assassin with her responsibilities at home.

Si-wan initially debuted as a member of the K-pop boy band ZE:A before venturing into acting. His notable projects include the sports drama "Run On," romance series "Summer Strike," and the thriller film "Unlocked."
