"The two, who have been friends for a while, met up for a meal in the United States," Jennie's agency, Odd Atelier, said in a statement published by K-pop news outlet Soompi.

The clarification comes after photos of the two, reportedly taken at a Japanese restaurant in the United States, surfaced on social media.

Earlier this month, BamBam returned to the Philippines to promote his third extended play "Bamesis."

Meanwhile, Jennie is preparing to release a new single in October after signing a partnership with Columbia Records.
