MANILA -- In 2022, Rhian Ramos confirmed her relationship with businessman and politician Sam Verzosa.

Like other couples, Ramos and Verzosa went through a rough road in 2023, admitting that they broke up briefly due to lack of communication, but later rekindled their romance.

Last July, they celebrated their third anniversary. Small or big events and wins, they were both present for each other, and still are.

On Monday, September 16, the Filipina actress surprised the Tutok To Win Party-List Representative during his thanksgiving party at Manuel L. Quezon University in Manila.

The two personalities were asked about their learnings as a couple for three years.

“Ang dami kong natutunan talaga. Not just about relationships, about myself din, about Sam, about being a good partner, and what that really means, what healthy communication is. Siyempre kapag may away (fight), doon mo lang matututunan kung ano ang healthy communication and healthy arguing. Ngayon ko lang talaga nadi-discover. We try to be as patient with each other as possible. We support each other no matter what,” Ramos told ABS-CBN News.

Verzosa added: “Nag-grow ako as a person. I’ve matured. Ito na ‘yung one of the best versions of myself. Dahil sa kanya nga, lalo pang nailabas ‘yung mga magaganda sa akin at nabawasan ‘yung mga hindi magaganda at nabago ko ‘yung hindi magagandang ugali. Lahat ‘yun nagawa ko dahil sa pagmamahal.”

Both booked and busy, how they make time for each other? Ramos replied: “Ngayon pa lang, hirap na kaming gumawa ng time para sa isa’t isa. Ginagawan na lang talaga namin ng paraan kunwari ‘pag uwi ko from taping, we’ll have a couple of hours together.”

She continued: “Nakakapaghanap naman kami ng ways to spend a lot of time together. We go on vacation. If I have work near his house, I’ll standby at his house muna.”

The congressman agreed, saying that travel allows them to deeply connect with each other.

“Kapag nagtra-travel, mas nakikilala namin ang isa’t isa kasi walang istorbo. Napag-uusapan ang buhay, ang future, naaayos ang hindi napag-uunawaan,” he said.

So, when do they plan to settle down? “Mahaba pa ang life. Hindi naman kami nagmamadali. Darating din ‘yan,” Ramos said.

“Lahat may tamang panahon. Darating po ‘yan,” Verzosa responded.

He explained: “Siyempre ‘yung future namin, napapag-usapan namin. We’re both mature individuals. Tinitingnan namin ‘yung future namin kasi kaya nga kami nagsasama para planuhin ‘yung magandang future namin. Dahil sa growth na nangyari, alam na namin ang gusto at ayaw namin sa isa’t isa.”

During the thanksgiving, where Verzosa gave negosyo package for his supporters, they were also asked why they admire each other.

“Si Rhian ang pinakamatalinong tao na nakilala ko at sobrang pure ng puso at damdamin. Dahil sa kanya, mas lalo akong naging mabuting tao. Doon ako sobrang na-attract at napamahal sa kanya,” Versoza told Ramos.

“Nakikita ko naman kay Sam is he really has the purest, most golden heart. He always has treated me with so much respect from day one. Marami talaga akong natututunan. I’m a big admirer,” Ramos said.
