Hours before her son Arjo Atayde was announced as Best Male Lead in a TV Program/Series for “Cattleya Killer” at ContentAsia Awards 2024, Sylvia Sanchez told him that he’s going to win.

“Nung tumanggap siya ng award, siyempre proud. Siyempre nanay ako. Always namang proud. Nung nandun siya, sabi ko, ‘Anak, mananalo ka.’ Gut feel. Ayun. Totoo nga at nanalo siya. Binalita sa akin na nanalo. Talagang wow. Abroad pa,” Sanchez told ABS-CBN News.

The proud mother said she enjoys social work, joining feeding programs, medical missions, and other projects led by her son, who's also a congressman.

About his son’s political career, she shared: “Nine years old pa lang ‘yan, tumutulong na sa tao ‘yan sa Mindanao. Tumutulong siya sa side ko sa Agusan del Norte.”

“Hindi siya nagpapabaya. Ang dami niyang tinatanggihang offers sa serye at sa movies dahil nga sa pagiging congressman niya,” she added.

Sanchez also loves her role as a movie and concert producer. Some of the produced titles under her name and her family’s production company Nathan Studios were “Topakk,” and “Moonglow.” They also distributed “Monster” and “Silent Night” and recently acquired six animation films.

How about a mother and son movie project? “May plan pero matagal pa. Plano namin ‘yan sa movie,” she revealed.

Sanchez is also the producer of Juan Karlos’ first major concert on November 29 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Matagal ko nang niligawan ‘yan. Magaling siya. Ang sexy niya sa stage. Ang galing ni JK. ‘Yun lang ang masasabi ko,” she said.
