MANILA  -- Actor Sandro Muhlach has filed cyber libel complaints in the NBI Cybercrime Division against several netizens. Muhlach presented more than 100 posts in different social media platforms referring to the abuse he allegedly suffered from two GMA Network independent contractors.

The NBI has coordinated with the social media platforms in preserving the alleged libelous posts. While some of the posts were made by trolls, the others were published by identifiable social media profiles.

In a statement, Alexander Muhlach, the grandfather of Sandro, appealed for compassion and support from the public. He explained that Sandro has been experiencing online harassment and bullying which has affected his mental health.

“Sandro has been struggling with significant challenges, such as anxiety, insomnia, and loss of appetite. This has taken a toll on his physical and mental well-being.

"We kindly ask everyone to respect Sandro's privacy during this difficult time. The online harassment and bullying he has been subjected to are only worsening his condition.

"Sandro needs our compassion and support as he works towards recovery. We appreciate your understanding and respect for his journey towards healing,” the grandfather said.

The NBI is set to subpoena the netizens who posted the alleged libelous posts so that they can explain their side.
