Song Joong-ki, left, and Chun Woo-hee. Photo from actors' Instagram accountsTop K-drama actor Song Joong-ki is set to star in a series alongside actress Chun Woo-hee, who garnered attention for her recent shows, Korean entertainment media reported Wednesday.

Production company HighZium Studio said Joong-ki and Woo-hee have been picked as the leads in an upcoming romance series with the working title "My Youth," according to reports by Soompi and the Korea JoongAng Daily.

Joong-ki will reportedly portray a former child actor who becomes a novelist and florist, while Woo-hee takes on the role of a team leader at an entertainment company.

The series will be directed by Lee Sang-yeop, who previously helmed "Yumi's Cells," and written by Park Si-hyun, who penned the sports drama "Run On," according to reports.

The show is slated for a 2025 release, though an exact premiere date has yet to be announced.

"My Youth" marks Joong-ki's comeback following the revenge drama "Reborn Rich" in 2022. The actor's other notable series include "Descendants of the Sun" and "Vincenzo."

Woo-hee, meanwhile, received acclaim for her role in the crime drama film "Han Gong-ju" in 2013. She is also known for the series "Be Melodramatic"

Earlier this year, Woo-hee had lead roles in the superhero series "The Atypical Family" and Netflix's dark comedy "The 8 Show."
