MANILA -- Actress Roxanne Guinoo is making her showbiz comeback in ABS-CBN's upcoming primetime series "Lavender Fields."

In a press release, Guinoo shared that her brief appearance in the series marks a new chapter in her career.

“It’s a very short role, pero may impact,” revealed Guinoo, who will be playing the wife of screen veteran Albert Martinez's character.

Guinoo said she is fully invested in bringing a multi-layered portrayal. 

“Maraming hugot sa flashback scenes,” the 38-year-old actress added.

Guinoo, who is inspired by Martinez's encouragement and support, said she is eager to prove her talent anew, not just to her fans, but also to herself. 

“Sabi kasi ni Tito Albert, ‘Alam mo, bumalik ka na kasi kulang na sa mahuhusay na artista,’” she said. “Sabi ko nga, ‘Talaga ba, Tito Albert, kino-consider mo ako?’ Kasi, wala pa po akong napo-prove.’” 

“Na-challenge ako sa sinabi ni Tito Albert. Kahit 38 [years-old na ako] at malapit na mag-40, baka mabigyan pa din ako ng surprise break sa career ko,” Guinoo added.

Guinoo, who looks up to "Lavender Fields" lead star Jodi Sta. Maria, said she is passionate about creating her own spotlight. “Si Ate Jodi, noon, lagi lang siyang best friend ng bida. ... Hindi siya sumuko. Ako rin, bakit hindi ko susubukan?"

Guinoo reflected that her personal life experiences have been instrumental in shaping her to become a better character actress today. 

"Yung mga pinagdaanan ko in the past, nagagamit ko siya sa mga roles na ginagawa ko,” she said.

With her showbiz return, Guinoo also acknowledged the importance of self-care in a demanding industry characterized by constant adaptation. 

Guinoo has consulted Dr. Clarissa "Issa" V. Cellona, head of SKINCELL Advanced Aesthetic Clinics for her own beauty and anti-aging concerns.
