ITZY member Lia is set to resume activities with the K-pop girl group after nearly a year-long hiatus due to health reasons.

On Monday, ITZY's label JYP Entertainment announced Lia's return in a statement.

"Following treatment and rest, her tension and symptoms of anxiety have significantly improved," JYP said in the statement translated into English by K-pop news website Soompi.

"Therefore, after careful discussion with Lia, it has been decided that she will resume her activities starting with ITZY’s new album, set to be released in the second half of the year," it added.

Also on Monday, Lia appeared alongside the other ITZY members for a YouTube livestream, held in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the group's fan club.

In September, JYP said Lia would take a break from promotional activities after experiencing "extreme tension and anxiety."

ITZY is set to return to the Philippines for its "Born to Be" concert tour, to be staged at the Mall of Asia Arena on August 3.

Also consisting of Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna, ITZY was launched in 2019 with the single album "It'z Different."
