Photo courtesy of NetflixCannes-winning Korean actress Jeon Do-yeon joins the star-studded cast of Netflix's new mystery thriller, "The Price of Confession."

On Tuesday, the streaming giant announced the production and cast of the series, which will be directed by "Doona!" and "Crash Landing On You" director Lee Jung-hyo.

In the series, Do-yeon plays Ahn Yoon-so, whose dreams of a happy family are shattered when she is accused of her husband's murder.

The powerhouse cast also includes Kim Go-eun ("Exhuma" and "Goblin"), Park Hae-soo ("Squid Game" and "Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area") and Jin Sun-kyu ("The Outlaws" and "Extreme Job").

Go-eun portrays Mo-eun, known as a "witch" among prison inmates, who strikes a dangerous deal with Yoon-so. Meanwhile, Hae-soo plays Baek Dong-hun, a competent and principled prosecutor who is determined to uncover the secrets between Yoon-so and Mo-eun.

Sun-kyu takes on the role of Jang Jung-gu, a boxer-turned-lawyer who strives to prove Yoon-so's innocence.

Netflix has yet to release the series' premiere date.

Do-yeon is known for her role in the 2007 film "Secret Sunshine," which earned her the Best Actress award at the 60th Cannes Film Festival, making her the first Korean to win an acting prize at the prestigious event. 

She has also garnered attention for her portrayal of the titular character in Netflix's action film "Kill Boksoon" and her leading role in the romantic comedy series "Crash Course in Romance."
