MANILA — Upcoming film "How to Slay a Nepo Baby" premiered with a cause on Monday evening in Mandaluyong City.

Cast of the thriller top-billed by Sue Ramirez, Barbie Imperial, and Phi Palmos, urged fans to donate relief goods such as food, toiletries, and clothes, to the drive that accompanied their red carpet for the flood-stricken victims affected by the habagat and typhoon Carina.

“Nakaka-touch Viva. Sila nagplano,” Imperial said.

“This is something else. We were suppose to have the premiere day after typhoon. But we decided to postpone to be sensitive. And we decided tonight we don’t want to share the movie but to share the people who were really affected. Let’s share love and give love,” Ramirez added.

Ramirez revealed the cause is close to her heart as she herself struggled with floods while growing up.

“Growing-up dumadaan kami sa baha para lang makapunta school pag umuulan. I can feel what other people are feeling right now. Lalo na people na kahit nawala sa kanila. I hope this donation drive can somehow help,” she recalled.

According to Ramirez, her mom was also among those affected by the recent typhoon.

“Binaha mom ko sa Parañaque. Nakapaglinis naman na. Di naman nasira gamit medyo sanay kami sa baha,” she explained.

Imperial meanwhile urged the public to watch their latest film.

“People judge nepo babies. Ang dali nila nakuha gusto nila. This explains hindi lahat ganoon. Some really work hard for what they have,” she said,

“Ang dami lessons, madami negative ugali characters, may mga na-land na basta basta lang nakuha. People should really watch,” she added.

“How to Slay a Nepo Baby” will be shown in cinemas nationwide beginning July 31.
