MANILA  - Gab Lagman and Hyacinth Callado will top-bill  “Chasing in the Wild,” the adaptation of the third installment of Gwy Saludes’ “University Series” on Wattpad, which has amassed over 650 million reads. 

The two admitted they are somewhat nervous as they wish to meet the high expectations set by the previous  titles “The Rain in España” and “Safe Skies, Archer.”

“Sobrang pressure sa amin 'to. It is our biggest project. Pressure is good it means mahalaga project samin. We just want to do our best. We want to sustain the first and second books. We just want the fans to appreciate bigay namin na work,” Lagman said during the press conference in Quezon City on Friday.

“Every now and then I feel a lot of pressure. I do know we both have responsibilities, we have to pay respect the stories and different aspects. Sometimes I am anxious but it shows that we care. I care about making this project good,” Callado added.

Lagman will be playing Sevi, a simple and fun-loving engineering student and basketball team captain while Callado will bring to life Elyse, a rich and spoiled management student and cheerleader from a rival school.

 “So far their chemistry is really good. I was there for the look test. Pati ako kinikilig. I took so many photos and videos,” Saludes teased.

While the chemistry is apparent on-set, Lagman and Callado said they have yet to bring their romance behind the cameras.

“I don’t want to think about it now.  Right now we are really focusing on our project. I feel very… All I can say is I am very grateful. I feel safe with him,” she said.

“I am really happy with what Haya has. we have been closer the past few months. Because we have been doing workshops, the relationship works, especially the music video. I am happy to see her grow as an actress. We want to grow as a love team with our own identity,” he added.

The pair are joined by a strong supporting cast which includes Heaven Peralejo, Marco Gallo, Jerome Ponce, Krissha Viaje, Bea Binene, Wilbert Ross, and others. 

“Chasing in the Wild” will premiere on Viva One on August 16, 2024.
