BTS star Jin will participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics as a torchbearer, according to a report.

The member of the K-pop supergroup is set to travel to France for the Olympic torch relay, Yonhap news agency reported, citing unnamed sources from the South Korean music agency.

The 31-year-old singer, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, finished his mandatory military service in June, becoming the first BTS member to complete his conscription.

In the same month, he also hosted an in-person event in Seoul to celebrate BTS' 11th debut anniversary, where he gave out free hugs to select fans who won a raffle.

The Paris Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11.

After being launched in 2013, BTS has steadily grown into a pop phenomenon, helping bring K-pop into the mainstream in the United States while generating billions of dollars for the South Korean economy.
