MANILA -- Actress Kylie Padilla has finally confirmed that she is in a romantic relationship, years after her controversial separation with actor Aljur Abrenica.

In an interview with veteran entertainment host Boy Abunda, Padilla said during the Fast Talk segment that she is "taken" after being asked if "she is single or ready  to mingle."

Asked by Abunda if love finds her or if she finds love, Padilla said: "Ipinaglaban ko rin ito. Bakit lahat na lang pinapahirapan ako? (laughs)."

"Ibang klaseng growth. Everything in life may ituturo siya sa iyo. There's a way for you to grow in everything na nangyayari sa iyo.  ... So mayroon din akong lesson dito sa relationship ko ngayon. It taught me to just trust myself more talaga and not be too scared to be myself." 

Padilla said her current relationship taught her to face her imperfections.

"This relationship really, tinuruan ako. ...  In this relationship I am really grateful, I am much more humble now," she said.

According to Padilla, her "partner" is not from show business.

In the interview, Padilla also shared that she and Abrenica are co-parenting.

Padilla had a tumultuous 2022, as it saw the aftermath of her separation from Abrenica, with whom she has two children.

The former couple’s separation was first confirmed by the actress’ father Robin Padilla in July 2021, followed by Abrenica’s allegation that his wife had “cheated first” in a since-deleted Facebook statement in October that year.

Abrenica released the statement amid criticism of his rumored relationship with actress AJ Raval, who denied time and again causing the actor’s breakup with Padilla. 

Both Abrenica and Padilla also cleared Raval of any involvement in the separation.

In May 2022, Padilla confirmed dating anew, but opted not to give any details.
