MANILA — Actress Maja Salvador on Saturday shared the challenges she had to go through while and after giving birth to her baby, Maria.

It has been a week since Salvador gave birth to her first child with husband Rambo Nuñez.

In an Instagram post, Salvador revealed that she experienced "an intense 30-hour labor, 12 hours without epidural, 3 hours of pushing."

"Then [I] ended up having [an] episiotomy and forceps. Two contractions and seven pushes later, we finally welcomed our baby Maria," the actress wrote in her caption.

Salvador narrated that just moments after finally holding her daughter, she had uterine inversion and three obstetrician-gynecologists tried to manually put back her uterus.

"[It] led to blood loss of 3 to 4 liters, then my blood pressure went down to 60/40, sinabihan na lang ako ng Doula ko na anytime I would have to go to the operating room for surgery," she shared. 

"That time sabi ko nalang sa sarili ko na I can’t do anything anymore... Ubos na ubos na lakas ko... I started praying Hail Mary... paulit ulit kahit wala na akong lakas. And miraculously, after their last attempt, one of the OB GYN succeeded in repositioning my uterus," Salvador added.

She stated that she is now recovering.

The actress thanked the medical personnel who helped her deliver her baby, especially the Filipino nurses for "unwavering care and support."

She also took the opportunity to express gratitude to her family.

"Ang swerte kong kasama ko ang pamilya ko dito sa Canada," she stressed. "To my husband, I love you. To my Maria, everything is worth it! I love you anak!"
