MANILA — Filming has started on Vice Ganda's upcoming film "And The Breadwinner Is ...", Star Cinema has announced.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Vice posed with director Jun Robles Lana as they expect to release the film this year.

"DAY 1 HAS BEGUN ... Abangan ang pagbabalik ng Phenomenal Unkabogable Superstar sa big screens!" the caption said.

"#AndTheBreadWinnerIs starring Vice Ganda and directed by Jun Robles Lana, exclusively in cinemas this year!"

Lana said the film's story is personal for him and Vice.

"Palagay ko maraming mga manonood ang makaka-relate dito. At lahat nang inaasahan niyo sa isang pelikula ni Vice Ganda, 'yung saya at 'yung riot na comedy, hindi lang namin basta ibibigay kung hindi hihigitan pa namin," said Lana, who also teased that the film will be hitting cinemas soon.

Vice's last movie was the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Partners in Crime" with Kapamilya actress Ivana Alawi.
