World tours, the Grammys, Platinum records, a Super Bowl, and some of the most popular songs of all time.

Apl.de. Ap, a founding member of the Black Eyed Peas, has done it all for nearly 30 years.

But no matter what he continues to accomplish, he always comes back to his Filipino roots.

The Pampanga-born musician — whose real name is Allan Pineda — celebrated Philippine Independence Day in the city of Carson where he was joined by his mother and thousands of community members.

"I’m very happy and proud of him," said Apl's mother Cristina Pineda.

"Kuya Aps" as he is called, has continued to act as a bridge between different communities — from music to pop and Pinoy culture — as well as to civic engagement and philanthropy.

"One of our albums is called 'Bridging the Gap' and it's coming from different cultures coming together and becoming friends and family," he said.

Apl.de.ap continues to crank out new music.

After a recent collaboration with K-Pop star Sandara Park, Apl has now ventured in to P-Pop, joining forces with the famed SB19 on the single “Ready.”

Apl shared with ABS-CBN News North America bureau some praises for SB19 as he explained how they linked up.

“[They are] amazing cats and very talented. They need to be on the world stage," he said of SB19 members.

Apl shared that he met with the group's members during the pandemic and had talked about a collaboration.

"We made it happen and the video is coming out soon," Apl added. "[It was] actually shot in the Philippines."

Apl.de.ap joined the five-member P-Pop group on stage for their "Pagtatag" finale in May back in the Philippines.

Apl enjoys being with his Kababayans, he shared that he is already gearing up for the road with his bandmates.

The Black Eyed Peas will kick off a World Tour next month in Spain, continuing to show off their culture, roots, and their world-class talents.
