The film titled "Revelations" explores how the beliefs of a pastor and detective drive their actions, the streaming platform said in a press release.

"The pastor believes it’s his divine calling to punish the culprit behind a missing-person case, while the detective assigned to the case continues to be haunted by visions of her dead sister," it said.

In the film, Jun-yeol, whose previously starred in "Reply 1988" and "The 8 Show," plays Min-chan, a pastor from a provincial town who receives a divine revelation that identifies the culprit behind his son's abduction, pushing him on a quest for retribution.

Meanwhile, Hyun-been, whose past works include "Hospital Playlist" and "Reborn Rich," plays Yeon-hee, a detective who is constantly haunted by visions of her sister who died from a heinous crime.

"Revelation" also sees the reunion between director Yeon and writer Choi Gyu-seok, who previously teamed up for the dark fantasy series "Hellbound."

Yeon also directed the hit zombie horror film "Train to Busan," occult thriller series "The Bequeathed," and the sci-fi horror series "Parasyte: The Grey."

"Yeon, who consistently delves in human nature amid a chaotic world, will once again challenge viewers to consider the intersections of religion and humanity, belief and conviction, vice and virtue," Netflix said.

Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón joins "Revelations" as an executive producer.

"I am thrilled at this opportunity to collaborate with him on shaping 'Revelations' and I have high expectations for our partnership," Yeon said of Cuarón, whom he considers as one of his influences.
