BTS member Jin. Photo: @jin/InstagramThe agency behind K-pop supergroup BTS appealed to fans on Tuesday to refrain from visiting the site where member Jin would be discharged from military service to prevent overcrowding issues.

In a notice on fan community app WeVerse, BigHit said Jin is "completing his active service in the army and will soon be discharged."

The notice did not provide an exact date but earlier reports have stated that Jin would complete his mandatory military service on Wednesday, June 12.

"Please note that the discharge day is reserved for military personnel only. No special events are planned on the day of Jin’s discharge," BigHit explained.

"To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site," it said.

While an event will not to take place on Jin's discharge day, the BTS star is scheduled to meet fans at an in-person event in Seoul on Thursday, June 13, in celebration of the group's 11th debut anniversary.

Jin will become the first of BTS' seven members to finish their conscription, with the group expected to resume activities as a septet by 2025.

All South Korean able-bodied men under the age of 30 are required to serve at least 18 months in the military, mainly because the country remains technically at war with nuclear-armed North Korea.

While the K-pop sensation's members have been in the military, they have been releasing new music in recent months, presumably prepared ahead of their enlistment.
