'Gimik' stars Jolina, Marvin, Dominic, Mylene reunite in Judy Ann's cooking show

MANILA --  Fans of the '90s popular youth-oriented show "Gimik" were treated to a fun surprise as Judy Ann Santos, Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Dominic Ochoa, Mylene Dizon were reunited.

The five stars of the teen show gathered together to film a vlog for Santos' online cooking show "Judy Ann's Kitchen."

The vlog, which premiered on Wednesday morning, May 8, shows the happy and kulitan moments of the "Gimik" friends.

For the first part of Santos' birthday episode, she invited and asked her friends to bring recipes for the food that they are going to cook. The Batang '90s gang cooked steamed lapu-lapu, oyster omelette and Thai pork rib soup, while Agustin made a cocktail drink.

While cooking, banters and fun memories were recalled as they talked about "Gimik."

"Mga bata ikukuwento namin sa inyo, we were cool once you know," Santos said.

"And young once. We have this show in ABS-CBN, it's called 'Gimik.' It was panlaban to 'T.G.I.S.' Char! Edit out! Parang baptism of fire namin 'yon nina Marvin and Diether (Ocampo) bilang mga bagong artista noon," Dizon added.

"Nagko-commercial kami ni My (Dizon) dati. Pinaghintay kami nang napakatagal noon, call time umaga shinoot kami ng alas nuebe ng gabi. Sabi namin kung sino unang mag-artista sa amin 'baduy.' Siya (si Mylene) unang nag-artista," recalled Ochoa  who joined the show's second season in 1997.

"Lumayas ako galing America, kinailangan ko ng pera kaya 'yung sinabi kong ang baduy mag-artista, kailangan ko lang naman mag-artista, Dom," Dizon shared.

On Tuesday, Santos teased their reunion through a social media post.

“Gimik,” which aired on ABS-CBN from 1996 to 1999, also starred G Tongi, Patrick Garcia, Diether Ocampo, Bojo Molina and the late Rico Yan.
