MANILA -- Actress Francine Diaz and Clem Castro, the vocalist of Orange and Lemons, have cleared the air following an apparent misunderstanding during an event in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro that has gone viral on social media.

Fans of both Diaz and Orange and Lemons have voiced their reactions after there seemed to be an overlap in their performances.

ABS-CBN News got to talk to Diaz, Castro, and one of the producers and organizers of the event where they set the record straight.

Kylee Dioneda, a producer and organizer, has apologized and taken accountability for the confusion that transpired.

"Unang-una po sa lahat, humihingi po ako ng pasensya sa mga nangyari," Dioneda said. "Ito po talaga ay miscommunication lang po ng lahat, sa dami po ng nangyari that time sa event."

Information gathered by ABS-CBN News showed that the event was delayed for two hours. Diaz was supposed to be the last artist to go on stage, and was scheduled to perform between 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Orange and Lemons was scheduled ahead of Diaz. The actress' camp requested if Diaz can go ahead, since she was scheduled to sing just one song. They were given the go-signal, but the band was not informed of the situation.

This led to the now-viral incident wherein Diaz performed while Orange and Lemons did their soundcheck.

"The night after the show, when we woke up, everything exploded," Castro said. "Gusto kong mag-damage control on the matter, because it's getting out of hand. It was so fast. Social media was so fast."

"We started to see a lot of hate messages, or mentions. It’s a little frustrating and at the same time, stressful," he added. "I understand the gravity of the matter, so I asked for an audience, kaso wala na sila Francine lumipad na sila to Manila."

"So I asked for an audience with the Vice Governor, with the local government, with Kylee to clear the air. We can understand, totally what happened."

Castro also expressed his frustration at some of the stories that surfaced online in the wake of the event.

"What you see online, all the videos and the postings, were just mere speculations. There’s no clear representation on what happened online. Kami lang lahat nakakaalam and we discussed it internally," he stressed.

"We never released any official statement because we didn't want to fuel the fire," Castro also explained. "We don't want more assumptions, more judgments from the masses, music supporters, or fans. We don't want to give more confusions."

The parties involved -- Diaz, Castro, their managers, and organizers of the Occidental Mindoro event -- had a dinner meeting on Friday to discuss what happened and their lapses.Kapamilya actress Francine Diaz and Clem Castro of Orange and Lemons. "When we started the meeting, of course I apologized for my actions. There was a lapse of judgment on my part because of that miscommunication that Francine's camp was requesting," he added. "But everyone was tired, we were tired. There was pressure."

"The show was two hours delayed. So, ambilis ng pangyayari. Magulo backstage. Things got out of hand and out of control," he also said. "I apologized for my behavior, I explained my side. They explained their side. And we found the root cause of the problem - it’s miscommunication."

Diaz, for her part, said that there was no briefing backstage on the flow of the program, and agreed with Castro that a miscommunication had occurred.

"Okay na po kami ni Sir Clem … Okay naman na po, nagkaayos naman na," the actress said.

"Pero nag-sorry din po ako kay Sir Clem, kasi at that time, I wasn't thinking properly," Diaz admitted. "Wala ako sa right state of mind… I should've acknowledged them. But because of intimidation, hindi ko po alam yung gagawin ko."

"Nag-apologize din po ako kay Sir Clem, kasi kahit hindi ko po intention na mag-disrespect, ganun po ang nangyari. Ganun yung naging kalabasan."

With the matter now settled, the two acts discussed possible collaborations in the future.

"He offered po, Sir Clem offered na parang kung meron akong gagawing songs in the future, pwede siyang magsulat for me. At kung meron akong sinusulat, pwede niyang mas ayusin pa yun. Ako rin po as my peace offering, ininvite ko po siya sa araw na isho-show yung first movie namin ni Seth," said Diaz.
