MANILA -- Singer Gigi de Lana turned to social media to share her pain over the death of her mother, Imelda, who passed away after battling cancer.

In her post on Instagram, de Lana shared her message to her mom as she uploaded the latter's photos as well as their snaps together.

"Miss na miss kita Mama. Ang hirap, ma. Ang sakit sakit. We are not perfect. I’m not perfect I made mistakes and I’m sorry. But I am perfect to my mom," de Lana wrote.

In the caption, de Lana also expressed her gratitude to all who condoled with her and her family's loss.

"Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nagpunta. And sa lahat ng nag-condolence. It’s okay if 'yung iba hindi nakapunta. Okay lang 'yun. Alam ko mga busy din kayo. Salamat," wrote de Lana, who announced that she will take a rest for a while.

She concluded her post by stressing her love for her mom.

"This is very painful. Kasi kami lang dalawa ang magkasama hanggang sa paglaki ko. My mom raised me well. Ang sakit lang na hindi ko na maf-feel yakap niya. Pati pagsusuklay niya sa buhok ko. Mahal na mahal ko siya," de Lana ended her post.

De Lana confirmed the passing of her mother last Monday, just one week after she asked prayers from from fans and followers for her cancer-stricken mother.
